Tech-dry Solid Silane Protects High Value Port Structures: In the news has been the Port of Hastings docking of a Japanese tanker for export of Hydrogen. This is just one of many projects that exhibit Australia's future manufacturing and transportation relationship with Japan.

Tech-Dry Building Protection Systems Pty Ltd, celebrating their 40th year in business, supplied the Port of Hastings existing structures with the product Solid Silane to several of their jetties: Crib Point, Long Island Point and Stony Point jetties. Increasing the lifespan of the Port of Hastings structure.

Tech-Dry's Solid Silane cream with the trade name Solid Silane is a highly concentrated penetrating sealer used in concrete structures to prevent water chloride caused corrosion. A major environmental advantage of this silane ceam is that on application it does not drip into the ocean.

Tech-Dry's silane cream has been used in many concrete protection projects including the Tsing Ma Bridge, Hong Kong with an initial application undertaken in 2009.

The Durable Protection and Enhancement of Concrete Floors

One of the dilemmas of the specifier is to choose a floor treatment which is durable and designed to be easy to apply. For many years epoxy and acrylic surface coatings have been used. As these are surface coatings they are subject to abrasive removal leaving a patchwork of remaining coating and bare concrete. In addition they are not environmentally friendly being organic and solvent-based.
So the ideal floor treatment is an impregnating treatment which uses the base concrete as the final surface so that a durable effect is produced. Tech-Dry in South Melbourne has carried out research work for several years to produce environmentally friendly inorganic water-based treatments for concrete. The result of this research and development is a range of water-based materials which densify concrete and in addition can be chosen to add water repellency and oil repellency. Lithium densifier can be used to achieve deep pe*******on of the active materials to densify/harden the concrete. As there is no surface coating with these densifiers there can be no delamination. The final surface can be polished to produce attractive finishes.
