Grays Antiques Second hand and antique shop South Melbourne, 303 Clarendon Street.

Established in Lake Boga as a general store in the late 19th century, Grays is still run by descendants of the original family. Now operating from a double fronted Victorian shop in the historic Emerald Hill precinct of South Melbourne, Open Monday to Sunday ( just the afternoon on Sunday) they sell all sots of things, sandwich plates and sofas,books and bookshelves, tables and teacups.

We have quite a selection of desks at the minute, with all sizes from small fall front bureaux, through antique flat tops, to three roll top style configurations, and each is over 100 years old. This desk is certainly the most unusual and has more drawers, both hidden and exposed, than we have seen in recent times. 

Walnut veneer and possibly of European manufacture around 1870/80.

Depth 72cm

Condition Report: No keys,  veneer losses, and two wood turnings are missing from the gallery top at the back.  Otherwise god and usable with barrel top, and drawers all working smoothly

We deliver most Saturday mornings in the Melbourne Metro area with two men. There will be a custom quote for this one.
