Never underestimate a vintage piece of furniture because it is nearly always made well and from quality timber and that is why it is actually still holding together 100 years down the track, just like this little beauty!!!!
When l bought it l originally had plans to paint and decoupage it but when l began to clean it l realised that it was mahogany and made in the 1920's. I have a personal rule and l never paint mahogany, English or silky oak pieces because the natural timber is so beautiful!!!😍
This piece required a restoration. I carefully removed the top with the finial and clamped the timber back together, sanded and restained it and sealed it with a durable satin varnish. The rest was brought back to life with a deep clean and some restora finish. Now it is completely ready for another 100 years!
In store now.
