Congratulations to Justin Turner and his team at Turner Stillhouse.
We were privileged to be invited to the launch of his Rosevears whisky and whiskey.
An absolutely fabulous soiree!
For us, the most exciting thing was to finally try his “bourbon” styled, three grain whiskey, produced from everything Tasmanian, and had high hopes, given where Justin hails from.
We might add that we are not overly great Bourbon fans, however, are always asked at The Angel's Share for some.
As a point of difference in a crowded whisky market, we were hopeful that Justin and his team could produce something like that.
Drum Roll!
Not only produced! Converted us!
The mash bill of 70+% corn, the rest malt and rye, gave a lovely sweetness, and easy drinking, leaving us struggling to get our nose out of the empty Glen Cairn!
The malt was fabulous too. Very delicate nose, lovely mouth feel, and a nice tail from the first draft.
Well done, Turner Stillhouse team, absolutely thrilled for you.
A great success.
