Last night we gathered to farewell two of the team, our weekend manager Jessi and our invoicer, Meg. Although we were missing Tim the Bossman and Astrid, it’s incredibly rare for so many of us to be together. Many shenanigans were had.

Although you can leave Dymocks Subiaco, you can never leave the family. Even though Jessi and Meg are going on to actual grown-up jobs, we know books will always be in their blood.

We will soon be welcoming some new people to the Dymocks family. Drop by and say hello.

and .a.a.98 you will both be missed.

This is a very special book from one of our favourite West Aussie authors.

We know and love Cristy for her wicked sense of humour, but One Day Soon is different; a deeply personal, deeply engrossing middle grade novel about her family’s journey with Motor Neurone Disease.

We were lucky to hear Cristy talk about One Day Soon earlier this year, and you could have heard a pin drop, barely a dry eye in the room.

But this is not a sad book for kids. It’s an important one - especially when you need to start conversations with children about the difficult conversations around mortality, illness and grief.

One Day Soon from is available now.

This weekend saw us attending not one but two of author Dave Warner's book and music events, at both Cambridge and Subiaco Library! An excellent turnout for both events, where we sold a few copies of Dave's latest book Sound Mind Dead Body, an Agatha Christie style crime thriller with an Aussie detective. Signed copies available in store 📚

Released yesterday, journalist Geraldine Mellet’s novel ‘Things I Couldn’t Say’ will be one of the most intriguing books you read this year.

The protagonist is a mouthy, feisty young woman who is paralysed after an accident and is now unable to move, unable to speak and trapped - not only in her own body- but in an aged care home.

Intrigued? You should be.
Worried it might be sad or challenging? Don’t be.

Things I Cannot Say is clever and funny and written with great respect and authenticity. Unlike Tracy, the main character, the reader is in good hands.

It’s eye opening and bruising and compelling and ultimately a beautiful story about what makes us human.
