Hey Crew, Kim's Cairns tournament recap is up and it involves a fuel pod going for a swim 😅

Fishing aboard Top Catch at the 60th Anniversary Cairns Black Marlin Tournament, the crew left it until 4:50pm on Day 1 to hook their black marlin. Talk about leaving it late! Then came Day 3: 2 metres of swell, 25-knot gusts, and a big wave that sent the fuel pod over the side.

Four days, one marlin, a 140cm wahoo and plenty of stories.

Hey Crew, our MD Ferrie has been out of the office all week and fair enough too! 🤔🎣

He's been up in Cairns for the 60th Anniversary Cairns Black Marlin Tournament, soaking it all in with some of the best game fishing crews in the country and watching the fleet head out wide of the reef chasing the big ones.

It's all in honour of the fish that started it: a 1,064lb black marlin landed off Cairns back in 1966, the first grander ever caught in Aussie waters. Sixty years on, around 99% of these beauties are released to fight another day. Now that's something worth celebrating 🐟

Massive shoutout to the CPGFA, every skipper, deckie and angler who made the week one to remember 🙌

Hey Crew, be honest, how many soft plastics does one decent bass session cost you? 🤔

One of our crew used to budget for it, half a packet gone by lunch, not because the fish were not eating them but because bass hit hard and drag everything straight into timber, turning most plastics into confetti after two or three hook-ups. Then he tried Austackle Tuffies and stopped losing bites the way he used to.🎣
