I'd like to take this platform to acknowledge and pay my respects to the Traditional Owners of two special places in this vast country, Australia. Firstly, to the Gubbi Gubbi people, of the land where I live on the Sunshine Coast and where we are bringing up our children. 🌿 And secondly to the Gumbaynggirr people of the Nambucca where I grew up. 🌱 Both beautiful lands with special rivers ❤️🖤 I support Australia needing a date that is inclusive for everyone!

The scandinavian tomten or julenisse is a wonderful little mythical creature associated with mid-winter, christmas and cozy homesteads. When I lived in Norway for a year we visited a little christmas town with a myriad of julenisse. And now, as a mum of two young girls, I've read Astrid Lindgren's Tomten many, many times!

When my eldest was 2yrs old, she demanded the tomten every night in November\December, it was like she really felt that magic of christmas!
