Nesting ✨
I have officially hit the 'nesting' stage of my pregnancy 🧺
A find this instinctual behaviour of pregnant women to prepare their home for the arrival of a new baby caused by a change in hormones so interesting!
Did you know:
🤰 Nesting behaviour can begin as early as the second trimester of pregnancy and can last until the baby is born.
🤰 Pregnant women may feel a strong urge to clean and organise their home, as well as to decorate and prepare a nursery for the baby.
🤰 This behaviour is thought to be a natural instinct to protect and care for the newborn, and may be driven by hormonal changes in the body.
🤰 Nesting can be a positive way for pregnant women to channel their energy and focus on the excitement of the upcoming arrival of their baby.
🤰 Nesting can also be a way for pregnant women to cope with anxiety and stress about the impending birth, by creating a sense of control and order in their environment.
🤰 Some pregnant women may experience a sense of urgency or panic when nesting, feeling like they need to complete all preparations before the baby is born.
🤰 Nesting behaviour may also include stocking up on baby supplies, such as nappies, wipes, and clothing.
🤰 Pregnant women may also seek out advice and support from friends and family members, or participate in childbirth education classes to prepare for the birth of their baby.
🤰 It's important for pregnant women to balance their nesting behaviours with rest and self-care, as pregnancy can be physically demanding.
🤰 Nesting behaviour can be a positive and natural part of pregnancy, but if it becomes obsessive or interferes with daily activities, it's important to talk to a healthcare provider.
