Today I received a long awaited delivery - these are Herkimer Diamonds!

They are not actual diamonds, they’re naturally formed quartz crystals from New York, USA, known for their beautiful clarity and naturally formed points.

Each one completely different - One is full of inclusions and character, while the other two have that incredible icy sparkle that catches the light from every angle.

Now I just need to work out how to wrap them!

You’ll see that they’re very different to the cabochons I usually work with, and I think the challenge will be finding a design that shows off the natural crystal rather than covering it up with wire.

They’re all my favourites 😂, how about you?

I got some beauties!! Had to tear myself away but I could’ve spent ALL day there 😂

I sold these earrings a couple of days ago, and the customer mentioned she might like a matching pendant.

Well... that got the creative wheels turning!

Out came the sketchbook, followed by the copper wire, and this is what I came up with. This prototype features Rose Quartz and Moonstone, but if the customer likes the design I'll make the final piece in silver-filled wire with Cat's Eye and Selenite to perfectly match the earrings.

It's quite different to my usual pendants - lighter, more open….
