A game, a movie, a book… Exit 8 by Genki Kawamura was adapted by the 2023 Game into a movie (2025) and the book (2026).
‘Exit 8’ is a horror mystery about the lost man, the walking man and the boy who are stuck in an endless loop as they try to exit the subway. To get out of the subway and back to reality, the rules are simple: if you find an anomaly along the way, turn back. If there are no changes, keep going forward… until you get to exit 8.
Genki Kawamura discussed that everyone lives their own lives on their screen concerned about the world and misses important moments right here in front of them. If there were anomalies or changes in our environment, would we notice and do something about it or do we ignore and keep going?
