First post of 2026 🫣 I am popping on to say hi, and let you know that we are well 🙏🏼Gregory and I have been taking some time to slow down after the last half of 2025.
Some things we have been up to:
We have been building a sanctuary on the balcony - growing lots of veges/herbs with companion flowers. It's been wonderful getting my hands in the dirt (I have used over 250L of potting mix!!), and now starting a little worm farm. The journey involves celebrating when a little sprout emerges after a few days, learning from the ones that don't, and slowly nurturing them in hope that they will produce some garnish in a few months. The way it has taught me to look at the cycles in nature has been beautiful 🍃🍂
I've also been slowly redecorating my bedroom. I've been working at making my space more intentionally "me(& Gregory)". And in the midst of looking for a big piece of artwork for above the bed it has inspired me to search for art that I connect with - loving exploring the worlds of Leonard Koscianski and Shaun Tan! I can already feel sparks of ideas for my own future paintings.
Other than that, Gregory has been enjoying his days at the park, lazy days together, and I've been reading a lot more: only just finished Piranesi (Susanna Clarke) today - thanks for the recommendation , with Project Hail Mary (Andy Weir) and A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet (Becky Chambers) in flight!
I reflect on how inward, quiet, and still everything has been of late. I think of it being a bit of a cocoon period so that in the second half of the year I'll have regenerated and be back to markets again in full swing 😊 thank you to everyone who has reached out to check in ❤️
