I’m not going to rule out a White Christmas in parts of Australia this year… and we will definitely be spending more time playing at home than I had planned this summer - thanks
But just in case it rains rather than snows we will have plenty of knead play snow on hand to make our own magic ❄️ 🎄

Gratitude | that is my overwhelming emotion this Christmas. I am grateful for everyone who has supported my in my business in its first year , customers and business partners alike💕And also to everyone in my private life who has supported me/ us as we transitioned to a family of six over the last few months, it has certainly taken a village 🥰

Christmas cut off dates & Dec 1. play activities 🎄
Firstly, here are two super simple Christmas play prompts for you!
Mr 6 isn’t very keen to hold a pen but he was thrilled to help me with this, we made a “help Santa retrace his steps to find the lost present” using our limited edition Christmas Play Snow ❄️
and “find the Christmas objects” hidden under our Knead Play Goop.
Mr’s 2 , 4 and 6 all loved both activities ☺️ so much easier to create activities that suit their various ages with the flexibility of the sensory play bases. Mr 2 couldn’t “complete” the tasks like his big brothers did. But in his eyes, he participated equally so he is thrilled and from my perspective , he was included by his brothers, worked on his turn taking and motor skills as well, so that makes me happy too 🥰

Knead Play Gift Guide 🎁 Part 4:
Snow, Dirt and Sand

IFKYK and if you don’t here are some reasons why!
🤎There are 24 hours in a day, and some kids would happily spend all of them out digging - but sometimes their parents may need too spend a few of those hours indoors.
💛Have you ever changed a young child’s nappy after they happily scooped and poured alternating one for the sand mould and one for their mouth at the beach 🤢
💚Younger siblings put everything in their mouths, this is a food grade version of kinetic sand, instant snow.
🧡I could go on all day, but if your young entomologist wants to set up a small world at grandma’s house, I bet she will be great full when no live creepy crawlies that come out of the “dirt” 😆

Knead Play Gift Guide 🎁 Part 1: Playdough
Which sensory base is best suited to gift your child, niece, grandson, neighbour?!
The beautiful thing about open ended toys and sensory play is that it appeals to both genders as well a wide variety of ages and much like icing on a birthday cake, it’s impossible to have too much of it 😜
But here are some tips as a mum of four 🥰.
Playdough
From 18 months little ones start to love sensory play. Squishing, squeezing, rolling playdough is a great way to build their fine motor skills. Poking loose parts or animal figures into the soft dough can further build on the fun and language skills… this can build over time to become simple games like match the animals footprint or shape or even tire track! And as they grow to school aged children playdough becomes a brilliant base for children to make sparkly fairy gardens, intricate creations or as a tool in STEM and language activities.
Playdough is a time honoured classic with good reason! And making your own fresh batch makes the experience all the more special 🥰

Christmas without the colour red?!
You may have noticed a distinct lack of red in our Christmas themed sensory kits… this isn’t because my favourite Christmas colour scheme doesn’t include red, but because Knead Play is committed to using only plants to colour our products and just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean a deviation from plant based colours, all natural, plastic free products 💚
The commonly used “all natural” and food grade red food colouring (red 4 or E120) is Carmine or Cochineal, which is derived from a tiny cactus dwelling insect. So the Christmas Kits this year focus on beautiful green, brown and metallics.
It has been wonderful to include festive bio glitter which is based on eucalyptus plant cellulose not plastic, is not only certified as biodegradable but are also guaranteed Carmine/ Cochineal insect free ♥️
I’d love to know what your favourite Christmas Colour scheme is! This year I am loving Teal with both Bronze and Rose Gold 🎄

There are Insta worthy play days… and there are “choose whatever you want from the loose parts collection in the craft draw” play days.
On this rainy hump day, just wanted to remind you that both are absolutely wonderful ways to play - play should be fun not a chore (for both you and the kids!)

🎉 Happy 1st Birthday Knead Play 🎉
If you had asked me 12 months ago how the first year would look, I certainly would not have said I would expand the range from a make-at-home dough mix to include 💯 natural and food grade play snow, dirt, sand, goop & fizzy within the first 6 months and to expand to plastic free, open ended Sensory Play kits in the second half of the year.
Nor would I have imagined that Knead Play would be enjoyed by little hands across every state and territory in Australia or that I would have developed products as a part of a wonderful collaboration nor have wholesale contracts…(and in the middle of it all, fall pregnant with & give birth to baby #4 💙)
💫 But here we are!
Not to me mention that there were what felt a million other lessons to be learned in the background as well.
So a huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who has joined me and Knead Play on this journey.
Whilst I do have planned more collaborations, new products and my first brand rep search… With your ongoing support and motivation, just like with the first year, I am sure it will be another 12 months full of surprises 🥰
