Every bar in this bundle can be traced back to the exact cast it was poured from. On a big job, that traceability is what clears inspection, not the steel on its own.

Under AS/NZS 4671, the tag carries the cast number, a unique bundle ID and the processor's mark, tying the steel to a conformity certificate that proves its grade and ductility class. If the tag and the certificate do not match, good steel can still be knocked back. That is what ACRS certification protects, from the mill to the point of supply.

Before the next pour, ask your supplier one thing: can you match every tag to a current conformity certificate?
