Paul has been a stalwart of the front counter, in recent years it was generally on a Monday that he manned it. he is an incredibly reliable book seller, always willing to help a hand or to fill in when needed, the most dependable and loyal person you could ever want in your life. many customers dealt with him in store and over the phone, and you would recognise his kind demeanour, calm and reliable voice and his ever-welcoming presence. thankyou Paul, The Bookshop could not have survived without you 🩷 xoxo - Charles

Noel finished up at the shop on the weekend after 25 years. he was the stalwart of the front desk and the person who went out of his way to let you know exactly what book you had to read, and what book you needed in your life. Noel isn’t just a bookseller: he’s the therapist you went to when there was something missing, and he knows exactly what book to fill the void. forever full of energy, Noel’s first thoughts were always for the customer. he is an exemplar of customer service and he will be missed by many. there really aren’t words to explain the level of disappointment we will feel in not seeing him behind the desk each week. to honour him here is difficult because it’s impossible to explain just how much his service has meant to the book-loving q***r community in Sydney. thankyou for your service Noel 🤍 xo - Charles

Remi only started with us about 18 months ago, but they have left an indelible impression. the depth of their reading was second to none, and their recommendations quickly took on a voice of their own. many people came to rely on Remi’s suggestions. they were extremely competent on the front desk, and took dealing with web orders to a whole new level of efficiency.  you will be missed.  We loved having you as part of the team 🖤 xoxo - Charles

Graeme finished up at the shop on Friday. after 35 years. yes, 35 years. you won’t ever see another author and q***r book connoisseur like him. he gave everything to The Bookshop. for many years he was the person behind the GR catalogue, the physical paper catalogue that we sent out to customers. he recommended books all the time, and they would often become our bestsellers as a result.  he wrote for DNA. he organised all the shop’s events. over the last decade he expanded significantly the shop’s selection on trans issues and books by trans writers. there is likely no other book seller with as much knowledge of q***r books as him. we honour him and thank him for his dedication. all the best 🩷 xo
