You guys always come to me with the nibbled leaves, and little ‘black specs’ on the shelf - most of the time its our friendly cabbage moth caterpillar. I send you home to look but you JUST cant find it. So you come back asking for spray deterrent. I try to go as natural as possible so I am hesitant to release my spray methods for control - best way to help your outdoor AND indoor plants from this happening is just observe them! Takes 2 minutes and no one gets harmed in the process.

Once you find little mate, send him off into the weeds to nibble and hatch.

3 things we’re doing in the garden this season //

Winter gardening is slower, muddier and often done with a cup of tea nearby, but it’s some of the most rewarding work of the year. The quiet preparation makes a loud difference and our pollinators will thank you for it!

1. Mulch like you mean it! - keeps the soil warm and weeds at bay,

2. Prune and Tidy - but don’t forget to leave some fallen leaves for our pollinators who rely on them for warmth and shelter.

3. Keep planting! Indoor plants are bursting with new foliage, make sure to drop the watering ratio, and pick up more curiosity.

At the end of the day, Winter is the perfect time to rest and maintain the calm whilst enjoying a hot drinky poo and plan for Spring -

Hot tip* our gardening journal is one of my gardening friends best tools. Plan, record, and collect- leave a little bit of whimsy where ever you go.
