I always laugh when someone asks me for something black, like a hat or some overalls, it’s just not the vibe of Colour Lane Creative is it?
To be honest it has only happened a couple of times, and my customers start laughing too when they have a full look around at all the colourful makes in my shop. I don’t really stock black fabric in my sewing room and if I need some for a project, I usually have to go out and buy a bit.
It’s all about fun and colourful prints here at Colour lane Creative, standing out in the playground or at preschool. Wear bright and happy colours on all your little adventures!!

Everything is handmade by me, sewn on my sewing machine in my little sewing room 🧵

✨Sunday, Funday Markets✨
It’s always so much fun having a stall at the markets!
We meet lots of people, chat all day to the customers and other stall holders! Music playing 🎵donuts 🍩 for lunch, and hanging out with the hubby.
Might even make a few sales too 💰🥰
I love all the comments people make while in my stall
“Wow do you make all these?”
“So Colourful”
“Gosh your clever”
“I used to sew, you have lovely things
Always all positive and it really gives you a lift to know people love what you make.

When I loose my sewing mojo I keep sewing! 🧵 But something different, easy, something I’ve sewn before so I don’t need to think too hard about it!
These last few weeks I’ve been pattern testing, creating some new clothing for my small business, and I’ve been making some big mistakes. It was time for a break! This is what I did
1. I walked away
2. grabbed a cuppa
3. turned up the music
4. started to sew my favourite thing!
Hats !!!!
Hats are my thing! I’m good at sewing them. I’ve sewed hundreds of them for my little business so they are easy for me, something I don’t really have to think about the construction of.
If you loose your sewing mojo, get back to basics but keep going. Once you accomplish one or two things your confidence comes back and you can try again with what was stopping you. Your head clears, you’re in a different state of mind, ready to take on all the new things.
Not just sewing but anything that you enjoy!
