Anyone else calling every species under the sun when itā€™s pulling drag? šŸ¤£ it always seems to be the fish you donā€™t want as wellā€¦ still a welcome fight when itā€™s a quiet morning on the water. HIKARI HEADS 6/0 & Rapala CrushCity floating out the back tempted this torpedo to bite šŸ’„

Versatility is always something weā€™ve loved about both Oba-Ke & Bubba-Ke. The ability to target fish down deep whilst also being rigged and ready for surface feeding fish certainly opens up the range of species you can connect with.

On this day we had sporadic blow ups of Longtail tuna around the edges of shallow reefs whilst targeting snapper, just out of casting range for lightly weighted plastics, the Oba-Ke 17G in Ghost Glass provided the perfect option for bombing long distance casts into the schools and getting the bite off the surface šŸ’„

LURE RESTOCK THIS FRIDAY 7PM AEST | Jonnyā€™s best snapper from a recent trip fishing shallow reef. The HIKARI HEADS pair well with most jerk shad or paddle tail plastics in the 5-7inch range, especially when fish are timid and a slower sink more natural sink is needed.

The Fishlogica Australia L series prototype is ticking boxes! Absolute dream to use and cannot wait for these snapper specific rods to hit the market.

A FEW RESTOCK UPDATES BELOW:

1. This Friday the Limelight colour way launches in the Oba-Ke 17G model. It was previously exclusive to the Bubba-Ke range but due to popularity weā€™ve decided to make it across both. Itā€™s an awesome colour for both green offshore waters or the run out tide in your local estuary. Itā€™s a natural choice, but silhouettes well.

2. Our Glasseye Black/Khaki dry fit cap was our best selling piece of kit, itā€™s been unavailable since last year, but will be making a return on Friday for those who were keen but missed out.

3. In case you missed it, Bubba-Ke will now have the option for anglers to upgrade the hooks to the ā€œSnapper Upgradeā€. We originally released these gems for smaller estuarine species, but soon realised how effective they were on shallow reds. After doing a few custom orders for those who asked, weā€™ve decided to make this a permanent option for anglers chasing snapper.

oska.henry amongst others have consistently asks us to upgrade the Bubba-Keā€™s to include the beefier 2/0 Decoy hooks for chasing reds - so we thought itā€™s something we will offer everyone. From our next restock you will see the option to upgrade your hooks from the current #1 assist to the size 2/0 ā€œSnapper Upgradeā€ on the site - Youā€™ve asked and now you have šŸ’Ŗ

You definitely know about it when these guys jump on the plastic sitting in the holder. Screaming long runs and big head shakes are always a welcome by catch when the snapper bite is slow. The HIKARI HEADS 6/0 look right at home on a 5inch plastic floating over shallow reef edges āœØ
