Let's hear from our newly joined intern, Aneeka, who joined us for the Summer Internship in Human Resources. Aneeka shares her impressions from the first week as a Unilever Intern.

"Being a Unilever Intern has been a great experience because of its inclusive and genuine environment.

My role involves helping with the ED&I Pillars, which are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, Māori, and Pasifika, Gender, People with Disabilities, and LGBTQIA+. I love being able to have a real impact on diversity and inclusion at Unilever, including helping with the 2024 Calendar and Policies.

At Unilever, I get to meet like-minded individuals and fellow interns while enjoying a free ice-cream or browsing the employee shop. I also have the opportunity to contribute to good causes, such as the Red Ribbon Appeal through a bake sale."

We recently celebrated International Day of People with Disability together with Turia Pitt who shared her incredible story.

Turia told us, “Improvement is not always linear” and for us, this is a reflection of our journey to becoming the number one employer of choice for persons with disability. With 1 in 5 Australians identifying with a disability we have both a responsibility and an opportunity to learn, improve and advocate for workplace inclusivity.

Over recent years we’ve made good progress in partnership with the Australian Network on Disability, Bus Stop Films and JobAccess. But we still have work to do. By 2025, our global goal is for 5% of our workforce to be represented by people with disabilities, and to make our 256 sites around the world fully accessible.
