From tiny seeds in the greenhouse to strong little capsicum plants 🫑 I have been lucky to harvesting capsicums last few years and I must say well drained soil and plenty of sun will do wonders.

Deadheading tip!

Instead of only removing the faded flower, follow the stem down and look for a healthy 5-leaflet leaf.

Make your cut just above it to encourage a strong new shoot and another flush of beautiful roses.

Save this for your next rose pruning day!

Getting a head start on spring

Today I’m sowing poppies and a few varieties of beans using seed-raising mix with a little vermiculite. I like to moisten the soil first, then sow the seeds so they aren’t disturbed by heavy watering afterwards.

Now the waiting begins… Who else is starting seeds for spring?

From my little greenhouse to the garden 🌱🍅🥒

My cucumber and tomato seedlings are finally ready to be planted! And here in Sydney, it’s getting a little warmer too 🥰🥰

So make sure to add a little Blood & Bone while planting, finishing with sugarcane mulch to help retain moisture, then giving everything a good drink.

Now the exciting part begins… watching them grow!

Are you starting your spring veggies yet?
