🌿 REGROWTH: A COMMUNITY IMPRINT 🌿
I'm so pleased to share that Regrowth: A Community Imprint has now found its final home for this community exhibition journey and is on display in the entry corridor of Tallangatta Library until the end of July.
Created in response to the recent bushfires across Towong Shire, what began as a gentle botanical printmaking workshop has grown into something much more.
Local women gathered around tables with leaves collected from gardens, paddocks and places that held meaning to them. Through simple gel plate printing, cups of tea, quiet conversation and shared encouragement, they created artworks that tell stories of resilience, renewal and connection.
Each framed piece is accompanied by a personal reflection from its maker, inviting visitors to pause and consider not only the beauty of the natural world, but also the strength that exists within our rural communities.
It has been an incredible privilege to facilitate this project and to watch it evolve—from a single morning of creativity at Lucyvale Hall, to exhibitions at Corryong Library, the Bush Mates Dance, and now here in Tallangatta.
If you're passing through, I warmly invite you to take a few quiet moments to wander along the exhibition. I hope these works encourage you to slow down, notice the delicate beauty held within nature, and appreciate the stories carried by each piece.
Thank you once again to the wonderful women who trusted the process and so generously shared a part of themselves through their artwork.
🌿 On display at Tallangatta Library until 31st July.
This project was made possible through a Regional Arts Victoria Quick Response Grant, supported by the Australian Government, Regional Arts Australia and the Regional Arts Fund Recovery Boost – Project Grants program.
