Multi struck copper coins can sometimes be difficult to identify, unlike some harder metals where minor movements between strikes can be seen, copper is not as obvious.
Can you tell us how many times you think this coin was struck?

Recently liberated from an overseas collection this key date sixpence is a lovely representation of the date.
Vibrant lustre shining through light tone gives an almost velvet appearance. This is the first uncirculated example we have handled of this year since the Newcastle hoard came to light 5 or so years ago so not a common coin to find.

This 1966 20c minted in London on what appears to be an off metal Nickel Planchet weighing 6.9g. It can be speculated that possibly the London mint had a mixup with a Bahamas 25c planchet making its way into the Australian dies. We can never be 100% certain however which adds to the mystery and special place these errors have in our collections. Always a talking piece and something to research further to prove the link.

A common date and one I’ve had sitting in the back of the safe for some time.
Displaying a lovely obverse die crack this bold lustre coin graded a respectable MS65 which for gold isn’t bad.

A new addition on its way back from America, this 1955(p) Proof half penny is one of only 301 examples struck.
Stored remarkably well this example graded PR62RD, one of the few times a natural coin tends to grade lower than one with a light coating of pvc as the die polish is somewhat subdued.
