Depazzi is an iconic Australian brand that designs, manufactures and retails jewellery and accessories made from natural mostly Australian materials farmed or mined with maximum care for our environment and animals. The story began 140 years ago when creative director and owner Bruce Tully’s family were amongst the earliest European settlers in the Queensland outback where they discovered opal dep

osits on their grazing land. Today Depazzi use opal and south sea pearls incorporated with crocodile and stingray leather and precious metals. Subject of ABC’s Australian Story in 2005, Bruce Tully describes opal as a hologram from ancient times and crocodile and stingray as the ultimate in luxury leather - Perfectly designed creatures that have outlived the dinosaurs. It is often said that a woman’s best accessory is her smile and I have no doubt that that is true. But when Her Excellency Dr Jeannette Young pinned her Cooktown Orchid brooch designed by Bruce Tully onto the lapel of her new suit her smile broadened! What is said in our studio remains confidential but I will share with you that she considers our team to be « very clever ».
It was wonderful to open our Studio on such a positive note after the devastating floods.
