Ive just orded some Clarity Cast from Carmen Oakfield Clear. Im excited about the properties of this epoxy for filling holes and fixing small repairs with ongoing projects. This massive camphor laurel platter bowl is finally finished. Its been coated with two coats of danish oil that were wet sanded t
hen a coat of liquid beeswax followed by a coat of beeswax butter. Its now curing overnight. This will probably be the last time i make something so large and heavy due to my back issues. For me it feels like the pinnacle of my woodturning and artistic work. I look forward to tryo g to top this work with my next one but thats a big call

Unfortunately my back injury has deeply regressed. I am now waiting for injections and cannot do any woodwork until the swelling has lessoned dramatically

Camphor bowl burnt to the stage of it being on fire. Then added sanding finisher to pop the grain, sanded with 0000 steel wool to remove excess char. Then added grit to 30 000 and friction polished it in to fully seal the colour. Two coats of finishing polish and another coat of beeswax f9r protection. One more coat of beeswax to go then will work on the foot of the bowl. Ive enjoyed this project. Next is a cutting board and a old school megaphone for a customer

Finished the bits and pieces bowl for the wondai woodworkers club. Its time for me to now start again on a few projects of my own. If anyone would like this bowl let me know as it will be up for sale at the club next week.
