It’s day 5 out of 8 of Avairy ll print drop ✨

The Crested Kingfisher has a very different character from the others. Its markings feel bold and graphic, almost like ink and water moving together. I wanted to capture that wild rhythm: the crest, the pattern, the sharp focus.

This work exists as one original painting and as three hand-signed print editions, and nothing beyond these numbers will ever be made.

This bird feels almost unreal to me - so small, but carrying such intense colour. I love the jewel-like blue against the warmth of the orange, and the way the whole bird seems to hold light.
