It is the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers again - the town looks so incredibly beautiful. I make sure every year I wander through the parks and take some images.

I’m working away on my videography course and learning a few new tricks. It’s nice taking a break away from shows to be able to actually focus on developing new skills. I hope to be able to eventually tell stories with my video work. Short stories anyway. Have a great day everyone x

Still the fight continues to stop the slaughter of the Brumbies

BRUMBY CULL… “It All Starts with The STOP”

Lachie Cossor, a truly exceptional horseman that I have had the pleasure of getting to know well over the last couple of years, made this simple but profoundly accurate statement in the opening minutes of his ‘Outback Stockman’s Show’ at The West Tamworth Leagues Club’ in January 2026.
I have spent my life with horses, I love and emphathise with them more consistently than the majority of human relationships I have experienced.

Lachie’s statement, made in regards to the co-operative education of young horses, could not be more applicable to the disasterous and contentious Cull program being carried out in The Kosciuszko National Park.
Applied to the education of young horses, it means once the ability to stop, recentre, and recommence the activity has been established, then the potential for escalation and panic has been heavily mitigated, establishing a calm and purposeful way forward.

In regards to The Brumby Cull, it’s time to STOP, re centre, establishing the REAL number of wild horses remaining in the park, the REAL impact those accurate numbers are having environmentally, and the most effective and purposeful manner in which to deal with the carcasses and hides, both valuable resources, of the horses which are destroyed. The manner in which the targeted horses are destroyed needs to be intensely reviewed, and placed in the hands of people who know the country, know the hiararchical makeup of the herds, and know which horses need to be taken out of the equation to most effectively reach the appropriate number of animals to co-exist in a balanced relationship with the environment and hydro development.

There have been wild horses in the area long before the original Snowy River Hydro Scheme commenced, this indiscriminate, uneducated, ill informed, wholesale slaughter and waste, needs to STOP, be re-evaluted, and when fully considered, recommenced in an intelligent and purposeful manner, with the wellbeing and ongoing care of these national icons uppermost in decisions…
