We know that it can be unsettling. Our lives have been dominated by the message of eliminating COVID-19 for so long.

Now’s the time to shift our mindset.

The plan is no longer to stop COVID. It’s to slow it down and there are things you can do to help

👉 Social distance where you can
👏 Wash your hands
😷 Wear your mask
👉 Continue to check-in when you are out and about
🧪 Get tested if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.

You will be helping us to lessen the load on our hospitals. We know the vast majority of people who get COVID will have mild symptoms. But some of them will need extra care especially those who have other medical conditions making them more vulnerable.

⚠️ Don't forget your mask this morning Queensland.

New public health restrictions have now commenced for parts of south-east Queensland, including mask wearing and limits on gatherings in venues and homes.

Masks are mandatory in Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan , Redlands, Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Somerset local government areas.

Dancing is banned in most places and weddings are limited to 100 people.

Health authorities are expected to hold a health update press conference, which will be live-streamed our page this morning.

Although Queensland has been and is doing ok so far, there is always the possibility of not if, but when an infected person ( with or without their own knowledge) slip into Queensland and visit various venues, spreading Covid.
