Baby Peppers

At Baby Peppers, we're all about fun and colours with an ethnic edge.

We sell a wide range of fair trade and socially conscious handmade goods such as blankets, quilts and wooden toys. Drawing inspiration from our Indian cultural and ancestry roots, we couldn't help but give our products an ethnic edge as well. We sell a wide range of handmade baby goods all inspired by a variety of things - centuries' old hand-block prints, vibrant colours, basket weaving, vegetable dyes, just to name a few. All of our products are skilfully crafted by fair trade artisan groups in India, a nation renowned for its eclectic culture, rich heritage, and beautiful handicrafts.

Our blankies and quilts are not just for little human babies but perfect for all furry babies as well, espcially those with allergies. Cotton is an excellent choice because it is hypoallergenic and breathable and keeps your pups’ skin feeling light. We’ve been told this little munchkin loves his snuggle time on our fish quilt 🐶 🐟

We've been battling some very cool nights, so we are dreaming of summer florals and spring colours and mixing up the sheets and quilts a bit. Do you have a favourite colour combo that you stick with?

Our little business wouldn't exist without these Sheesham wooden blocks, the very lifeblood of these generational craft forms. Our slow fashion concept is based entirely on block-printing where these beautifully carved wooden blocks are dipped in dyes and stamped onto the soft fabrics. The fabrics are then prepped for quilting.

Wowsers, who would have thought that we will go down to single digits in North Queensland. The nights have been freezing! Our Kalamkari quilts especially, are hand crafted keeping in mind how fluid the Australian seasons can be. Created with the right thickness of the cotton voile, the unique fibre structure regulates the skin temperature like an in-built thermostat!

Spills, spit ups, vomit, dog wee, cat wee - our dohars and quilts have seen and experienced them all! After 11 years, we are still going strong with them. Nothing that a wash and the sun cannot fix with the beautiful no-fuss cotton voile fabric....happy weekend folks!

Yepp, we are just as surprised that school holidays have ended just like that. Kudos to all parents that survived the school holidays whilst juggling the house, work and all the in-betweens!

Swimming wild and fancy-free.
Fishy fishy, dash and dart,
Leaving bubbles in your path!"

Our fish quilts are heading out to a beautiful home in Singapore, for both human and furry babies! Thank you for all your support, near and far. It means the world to us.
