Well, Red Tag Trout Tours is off and running this season with my first two hardy souls braving the cool conditions at Currawong Lakes. Both ladies saw themselves as beginners but by the end of the day they were starting to get the hang of things very nicely. I know that their appetite has been awoken and if their enthusiasm on the day accounts for anything, they have the bug now and will be back.

"LEARN TO FLY FISH TASMANIA"

With the 26/27 trout season literally just around the corner, now is the time to start thinking about learning to fly fish. Our workshops will commence in October this year then run once a month till the end of the season. Designed for beginners or novices wishing to learn a bit more, these workshops are a great idea either for yourself or for a gift to someone. Undertaken on a private fishery in the Highlands, a lovely small cabin on the shoreline, all your needs for the day are catered for as all gear is supplied including waders as well as morning tea, lunch, beverages (tea, coffee, juice, water). All you have to do is supply your own transport and appropriate clothing for the Tassie weather. At just $325.00 pp we're holding down the fee this coming season to the same as the last.

Although Della has caught trout before on dry flies, today she caught her first trout on a wet (damsel nymph) after trying for a fair while since she learnt fly fishing. A beautiful 3 1/2 lb brown. Well done Della… 👍😀

CANCELLED: "Learn to Fly Fish" - Sunday 12/04/26

Due to the predicted inclement weather around the Central Highlands including snow, this coming Sunday's final 'Learn to Fly Fish' Workshop has been cancelled for safety reasons. We look forward to more training workshops in the coming season so watch out for the dates in due course.
