Looking for a psychological thriller š ? Hereās what weād recommend:
As a long-time Lisa Jewell fan, I went into It Could Have Been Her expecting a twisty, emotionally sharp story, and it didnāt disappoint. Jewell is never afraid to dig into genuinely dark themes, and it never feels sensationalized just for the sake of shock.
Sally is a likable, grounded protagonist and compelling enough to root for, I can easily imagine a series featuring her. You start to piece together what has happened about halfway through, but that doesnāt lessen the suspense; it only makes it grip harder. The book is a true page-turner. And Stuart? He is particularly complex, tragic, and haunting in the way only Jewell can manage.
P.s. This book is reminiscent of The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell, which will be our September Cosy Book Club read.
