Handed over this very flash and special saddle this morning to its owner who has been patiently awaiting it completion. Built on a Rick Meridth tree in collaboration with Rick to replace the original that was stolen earlier this year.
Combination rose and basket stamp carving with black accents, spots and custom silver from Black Mountian silver and finished with Sheridan brown antique.
I’d like to thank Rick Meridith for his help in getting this saddle put together as close to the original as possible and Gita Thomas for trusting his recommendation in getting me to do the job.

Every now and then someone gets me to make one of these skeleton rigs and while they may not be everyone’s cup of tea I like them and enjoy building them.
They are simple, light weight, functional and one of the few times the tree makers skill gets displayed.
