This lovely Gibson BB King Lucille hollow body guitar had a broken truss rod. Fretboard comes off, old rod out, new rod in, fretboard back on. Then finish repair along fretboard edges. Plays very well now and sounds just like the King 😀

Just a heads up to anyone buying Elixir strings online from eBay, etc you are not getting genuine Elixir strings for under $20, they are counterfeit. Two customers this week brought in fake strings.

The packaging is a very good copy but there are slightly different fonts and colours.
The most important thing is that the fake strings have no coating on them and won't last or sound as good as genuine Elixirs. Buyer please beware, you get what you pay for.....

Recently completed some work on this nice 1962 Gibson Country Western acoustic. The bridge had come loose and the top was distorted from a few loose braces coming away. The fretboard binding on the treble side had deteriorated and the back had separated from the side on the lower bout from an impact, also missing some binding and purfling there. Some minor finish repairs here and there to tidy up and help make the repairs less obvious without any serious refinish work. The pickguard needed flattening and re-attaching also. A full setup and a new saddle and back it goes to it's owner.

This Gibson J-50 Deluxe is in for quite a few other repairs but the first job was machining a new rosewood bridge to replace the existing split bridge. Neck reset and crack repairs are next.
