The Yaks playing Violet Town September Market!

The Yaks are Anita, Graeme and Rat who originate from various meadows in the Great Dividing Range. They were drawn to each other by their love of music, coffee and pizza. The female, Feline cross Yak sings and strums guitar. The Gray, Harey Yak produces the percussive thunder on the musical seat, croons and harps on. The Rodent Yak hybrid, after a failed attempt at Tibetan Goat singing picked up the nearest backwards instrument and took up the bottom end. Yaks like a chilled vibe, playing covers on a hillock nearby from many genres including country, folk and rock, just Yakking it up.”

Such a vibe on the weekend!

Well the Violet Town Market today was a hoot! Ella Hooper was on the market music stage. Bruce Hunt-Hughes was busy spruiking The Trouble with Leo, and no great Violet Town photo would be complete without an Andie Guerin photo bomb!

The Violet town market welcomes four talented young musicians, all local stars of the future plus a very special appearance from a Violet Town musical super star!
First up;
Alina Lester (Strathbogie) and Tyler Kipping (Creightons Creek) make up the duo “In Lamp Light”,singing beautiful soul and folk classics.
Singer and songwriter Jeremiah Johnston (Miepoll) returns to the market with his Folk/Blues guitar and soaring vocals.
Murdoch Smith (Euroa) will entertain the crowd with some mean guitar and Country classics Violet Town’s own Ella Hooper has just got back from Nashville and is heading out on a regional Victorian tour. She will delight us with a few songs in anticipation of her gig at the N.E Hotel in Euroa (on the 9th of August) Don’t miss this local musical feast, it’s going to be fun!
