A cabin filter upsell gets a bad reputation because it's usually done wrong.

"Would you like us to check your cabin filter while we're in there?"

Most customers say no because they don't know what a cabin filter does, where it is, or why they'd care. Flip the script. Pull the filter. Show them.

A blocked cabin filter affects airflow to the blower motor, makes the A/C work harder, and particularly in dusty or high-traffic areas is genuinely unpleasant to breathe through. When customers can see a filter that looks like the inside of a vacuum cleaner bag, they get it immediately.

One workshop owner we work with started photographing filters before replacement and showing them on the front desk screen. His cabin filter attach rate went from about 10% to over 60% in three months. Same customers. Same cars.

No hard sell. Just showing people something they couldn't see.

It's 4am. The header needs to be running by first light.

You turn the key and nothing.

A flat battery during harvest doesn't just mean a frustrating morning. It means lost hours in a narrow window you won't get back. That's why cold cranking amps matter more than people realise.

Most farm machinery sits for weeks between heavy use cycles. That sitting draws the battery down slowly. Then when you need it most in the cold, under load it hasn't got enough left to fire.

The fix isn't complicated. It's matching the right battery spec to the application, checking it properly before the season starts, and not waiting until it dies to replace it.

If you're heading into a big season, ask your local RedPoint rep about battery testing before you're standing in a paddock at sunrise wondering what went wrong.

Genuine question for the ute guys, when did you last change your oil?

And do you actually know if your current oil matches what your manufacturer specifies, or are you running whatever was on special six months ago?

This isn't a knock. Most tradies are busy. Oil changes fall down the list. But the spec confusion around synthetics is real 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-40, full synthetic, semi-synthetic and running the wrong grade in a turbocharged diesel ute isn't just a technicality.

Wrong viscosity under load means less protection at operating temperature. In a work ute doing 40,000–50,000 km a year, that adds up faster than you'd think.

The fix isn't complicated. Know your spec, use the right grade, and stick to your change interval or go slightly shorter if you're towing heavy regularly.
