S O Y W A X VS P A R A F F I N W A X

I received an excellent question to why I use Soy Wax + not Paraffin Wax as some candle workshops are teaching using paraffin wax - Great queation!

Firstly both are used in candle making + marketed as natural + non-toxic.

Both are naturally occuring, one a vegetable the other a mineral that is better known as fuel for our cars 🚗

Paraffin wax when burned, creates highly toxic benzene and toluene (both are known carcinogens). The toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes + are linked to asthma + lung cancer.

Paraffin wax is cheaper + easier to work with in candlemaking but Soy Wax blends heavenly with Essential Oils + has a longer, cleaner burn 🔥

Paraffin wax is used in so many beauty products + beauty services. I decided to see if its any better for people in products vs candles.

After chatting with an amazing local corneotherapist (holistic skin guru) Jacinta, it decidely is NOT good in beauty products, services or candles. It has the same harmful effects.

Food for your car should never be food for your skin + body.
