4WDs, SUVs and Utes have become ever-present on our roads. They are the vehicles of choice for Redlands families, tradies, caravaners, boaties, campers, and commuters.
Unfortunately, the costs of these vehicles will jump dramatically when a new Vehicle Efficiency Standard is brought in by the Federal Government next year.
Through this 'standard' hefty penalties will be imposed on popular petrol, diesel and hybrid models to subsidise the cost of fully electric vehicles. The Government will hit vehicle manufacturers with massive fines unless they sell fewer petrol and diesel cars.
SUVs, Utes and 4WDs will be more expensive and harder to get. In fact, car industry analysts are warning that some manufacturers are likely to withdraw from the Australian market all together.
