🦘🦘As I was driving home from the Make It Mine Market at Henley Beach yesterday, I had some time to reflect on the day.
I met some amazing people, but one gentleman in particular really stood out to me.
He was genuinely excited about our Roo Gear products and our laser engraving. He took the time to ask about our story, where we were from and how we started. He carefully looked through our products, took a card and brochure, scanned our Facebook QR code and headed off to explore the other market stalls.
Not long after, he came back.
He was looking again at our laser-engraved products with the biggest smile. He stepped back and said:
“I am so excited for you guys. This is amazing and I wish you so well. I can’t wait to see where this will go.”
His positivity honestly made my day. ❤️
It got me thinking about what it really means to support a small business.
It isn’t always about buying the product or service. Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most — a kind word, praise for an idea, recommending us to a friend, mentioning us to another business, liking or sharing a post, or simply following along with our journey.
Those little things can make such a difference. They help spread the word, build confidence and remind small business owners that people are noticing the hard work behind the scenes.
As we come up to nearly 5 months in business, I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far.
We won’t always get everything right, but we will keep learning, improving and giving it our best. ❤️
And a huge thank you to Roo Gear’s master engraver, Ian. Your machinist qualification, incredible eye for detail and level of perfectionism are a huge part of what makes our custom laser-etched products so special. ❤️
And to the gentleman we met yesterday — thank you. 🙏
