Celebrating my Ukraine ancestry.
Ukraine celebrates Vyshyvanka Day, on the third Thursday in May. A vyshyvanka is a traditional embroidered Ukrainian shirt symbolizing identity, freedom, and heritage. On this day, Ukrainians across the world wear vyshyvankas with pride — as a symbol of love for Ukraine and a reminder that Ukrainian identity cannot be erased.
