Sunday Ponderings....
What a view! The Prague skyline is unmistakable, but so much of what we see is coloured by the memories and experiences around the photo. It was the hottest day on record when this photo was taken, you could see the heat coming off the road.
I'm not complaining, it is summer after all.
It was really a day of the senses; the smell of wet asphalt as the fire engine drove slowly by, drenching tourists in water spray (have you seen grown adults dancing in the streets? I have. There was even a rainbow). The city centre was heaving with people, but the sounds seemed to be dulled somehow - as if the air was so heavy, it blanketed all the noise. It made everyone slow down.
So in the heat, and the hubbub, and the sheer beauty of this place, I'm reading Dan Brown's Secret of Secrets. It might not be my normal go-to, but I need something light and easy. It's set in Prague, so with every siren I expect to see Tom Hanks rounding the corner, checking behind for his pursuer.
I'll let you know if I see him.
