Hi all Customers. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CORDS!! I have discovered that the nylon framing cord that I use to hang framed artworks is faulty. It is obviously a bad batch. I have had a few customer’s frames fall off the wall due to the cord breaking where it touches the hanger. If it is a heavy frame I would have used a coated copper wire but lighter frames usually have this white nylon cord. If there is any sign of it going brittle or showing signs of wear, please let me know and I’ll gladly replace it. This photo shows cord pulled apart by hand after 4 years in a frame. Thanks. I would like to wish all my valued customers and friends a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2026. Thank you all for your custom - it is most appreciated. I hope I’ve been able to produce framing that you’ve all been happy with. The last couple of months have been very busy with some beautiful artworks to frame. Dear friends and customers. After nearly a year not framing, I’m happy to say that we are back ready to go again - still in Warrandyte but at a different location. It has taken a bit longer than I would have liked but apart from the move, not much has changed. As from November I’ll be available to frame your artworks - so if you’ve kept anything in the cupboard for this past year, let’s see if we can give it a new life. Dear Customers, Quick update on Black Ink Framing.

The new studio/workshop is nearly up and running. I am able to do canvas stretching and float frames, however not able to cut glass just yet. I am having some structural works done to accommodate the glass/matboard cutter next month so hopefully will be ready to go then.

In another issue, can I ask that you do a quick check on the hanger cord of any framings I have done for you. Please check if it is showing signs of wear or breaking. I have had 3 customers where the cord has likely snapped causing the frame to fall off the wall. I’m fairly certain it is a faulty batch of nylon cord. If it appears to be an issue with your framing, please replace it or bring it to me and I will do it while you wait.

To all my Customers and Friends.
We have sold our house in Warrandyte and will be taking a temporary pause from framing, until we have settled in a new home. We plan to remain in the area and as soon as I have set up the new studio, I will recommence framing. I will still be taking work up until the end of July 2024 so if you have anything urgent to be framed, get in before I close.
I will of course keep you informed of how things go and when I expect to start up again.
