Geoff's Guitars Geoff's Guitars are alternative guitars made from cigar boxes, biscuit tins and other containers with endless possibilities.

Geoff's Guitars are unique creations made from cigar boxes, biscuit tins and chocolate tins of various shapes and sizes, new and repurposed wood, and various common or unusual articles put to new uses. They are not just striking to look at, but actual musical instruments. "Each one," says Geoff, "has its own 'voice', or distinctive sound," determined by the kinds of wood used, the size and shape

of the soundbox, the placement of the soundholes and other factors.Each instrument is tuned to an open chord, usually G, D or C. The philosophy behind Geoff's Guitars is to send things around one more time at least, that is, to recycle objects that might otherwise become landfill; to keep alive the "stories' behind the materials used, like the 130-year-old oregon guitar neck that came from renovations to my friend's home that was built in 1885; to make objects of beauty that sound beautiful as well; to encourage people to see and hear things in a new way; to encourage people to 'have a go' and see what they can do: we are more creative than we know.

Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing you joy in these hard times. May you appreciate the ties of your family and friends. For those who are separated from loved ones, I wish for their safe return, and a strengthening of those bonds. For those in places torn by war, I wish you safety, and the hope of lasting peace. For those for whom there will be no Christmas dinner, or present-filled stockings, may we reach out to them to share from our relative abundance. May you carry God's peace, God's love, God's forgiveness with you in your dealings with others.

We had another successful day at the markets at glebe on Saturday. But I still have many lovely handmade guitars and ukuleles for sale. So if you're looking for a special present for someone musical, one of thee might be just the thing. Message me for details.

Geoff's Guitars will be at the Markets at Glebe on Saturday 9 December and Saturday 16 December.
I will have a market stall at Glebe with new guitars I have recently finished. There will also be some hand crafted ukuleles as well. Come and visit to say Hi, or to buy a unique gift for someone you love.
