After a big three days at QuiltNSW exhibition today I have been reflecting on the renewed joy, inspiration and enthusiasm I have for our industry and my place in it.

First congratulations to the guild on putting on a stellar event. It was no small task but you did it and it was great.

Congratulations to every quilt maker who had a quilt on display and came home with prizes. So much talent and creativity in one room.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my stall to chat, share your creations with me, your stories and for your purchases.

I got to meet some of my regular customers and followers in person for the first time and catch up with familiar faces which is always so special and exciting for me. I honestly feel so blessed to have the most kind, thoughtful and caring people following along on my journey with The Maker’s Stash.

It was great to catch up with my fellow industry peers and I had many wonderful conversations. I love that everyone is so willing to share their knowledge and support each other.

Finally a huge thank you to my beautiful Mumsie who not only helped me the three days of the show but also helped me in the days and weeks leading up to it, prepare kits and stock. You are an integral part of the Maker’s Stash and I appreciate your support more than words could express ❤️

It’s the last day of the QuiltNSW exhibition! You definitely don’t want to miss out on seeing the incredible quilts and having a browse and shop at the marketplace. I’m doing my mini slow stitch trunk show and chat again today at 1:30pm in the demonstration zone. I hope you can make it ☺️

Back for day two at QuiltNSW exhibition. Come and find me at stall 70 and in the demonstration zone at 1:30pm where I’m doing a mini slow stitch trunk show and chatting about my patched and stitched cloth method for slow stitching.

Some close-up shots of my Spring Blooming Zipper Pouch. I love scattering little detail stitches and snippets of things in my work...itty bitty buttons, a tiny little embroidered flower patch, French knots, yo-yo's and vintage buttons, little cross and seed stitches and of course a sweet 1/4" hexie flower. All of these treasures make my pouch just that little bit more precious.

Hello friends,

I hope you had a lovely weekend. I was busy in the studio working on stock to take to the Quilt NSW Exhibition. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked as I started to come down with a head cold...not the best timing! So I tried to rest in between tasks. I still have a fair bit I'd like to get down before bump in Wednesday but conscious of not running myself into the ground, I want to be healthy and 100% energized for the three day show.

I hope this week brings you lots of lovely things and perhaps I'll see you at the show.

I had so much fun making this little Log cabin pincushion. I used my patched and stitched cloth method of hand stitching. This is such a great project for using up even the smallest of fabric scraps. I want to make so many more of these...a new stitchy obsession 😆 Would you like a video tutorial of how I made it?

Pottering around the studio today working on lots of lovely things to take to the NSW next week. I'll have lots of beautiful fabric bundles, packs, kits and some delicious vintage textile slow stitch kits and treasures. Find my stall at number 70 in the market place. I'll also be doing chat in the demonstration zone all about Slow Stitching and my Patched and Stitched Cloth method. I'll have all of my samples for you to fo**le!

Quilt NSW Exhibition is on Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th September, 9:30 to 4pm, Rosehill Racecourse, Rosehill NSW.

Finished my Spring Blooming Zipper Pouch last night and also made a matching log cabin pincushion (am now obsessed with log cabin blocks!). I used my Patched and Stitched Cloth method to create both. You can learn all about this technique in my Scrap Happy Patched Pattern.

A little stitching adventure is on the horizon… 🌿🧵

I’m so excited to share that in October 2027, I’ll be joining Travelrite Tours for a very special Murray River Quilting Cruise aboard the beautiful PS Murray Princess and I’d love for you to come along!

For this 11 day journey, I’ll be designing a brand-new English Paper Piecing project, which we’ll stitch together along the way. Imagine slow stitching, good company and plenty of time to sew, all while travelling through the beautiful landscapes of the Murray River. 💕

And of course, there’s so much more to the journey — exploring South Australia, visiting Kangaroo Island, enjoying special sightseeing experiences and discovering the wonderful quilt shops along the way.

I’m already imagining days spent on deck with a needle and thread in hand, watching the river drift by… followed by a little more stitching, a cup of tea and plenty of chatter with fellow stitchers.

It’s going to be a truly lovely creative adventure.
