Amidst Fletcher Jones memorabilia, an incredible private collection of vintage cars, and the buzz of stories shared, we launched Jock Serong's 'A Suitable Man' at an event we'll long hold in our hearts.

What a privilege to work with so many people in our community to bring this celebration together! Huge thanks to everyone involved and everyone who came along.

Woohoo! We are awfully chirpy this morning as we get to reveal that we are one of 26 Aussie bookshops that will receive special event funding through the ABA Bookseller Events Program! 🎉🎉🎉

We will be teaming up with our mates at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village Warrnambool to deliver a Festival of Stories for children and their families this November. We can't wait to share all the details with you soon!

We want to express our huge gratitude for this program which recognises the cultural importance of bookshops as an integral part of communities and the Arts.

The ABA Bookseller Events Program has been assisted by the Australian Government through Writing Australia.

Coo-could this be our greatest win yet? Or could it be YOURS?

After an amazing, fast-paced year where we were awarded back-to-back Collins Booksellers Franchisee of the Year Awards, took out the ARC Franchisee Retailer of the Year Award and got shortlisted for the Bookshop of the Year ABIA, we did something a bit left-field.

We named a pigeon.

This was part of a wonderfully inventive campaign to raise $115,000 for a new prostate cancer detector for South West Healthcare. Hats off to Susan Morey and the SWH team who collaborated with Fitzmedia, Beyond Bank Warrnambool and the Warrnambool Pigeon Racing Club in its centenary year to create this great fundraising success.

Not only did the hospital get its machine - our pigeon won first place!

We are now proudly the "People behind the fastest pigeon of the 2026 Great Australian Pigeon Race". There has been discussion of adding it to our business cards.

AND - there was a $500 cash prize which we want to pass on to help another sector of the community!
