We discussed taste re reheating same-steamed was the choice. Learn wrapping, garlic and water in pan to steam. Timer set (new tool)-to begin cooking at 2.30. A beautiful weekend, roast pork Friday and inhouse movie. Beechworth Saturday for all our favourites and a very patient bookshop awaiting our return for sequels ordered. A lovely lunch at Nicholsons -a nice time to laugh, make memories while we wait for our food to cook. Lots of shops then home to spend money earnt by working (painting) on a computer for school (with a chip in by family) šŸ˜ then home to relax. Gold Class Sunday to watch Odyssey-10/10 and definately one to watch in the big screen. Thanks for a great weekend.

Last week we went to Arnold’s and purchased our food to cook. We made spaghetti from scratch and managed to set aside enough for another meal-huge dollar saving. Step by step with prompts for recall-visual guides assist this by setting up cupboards so that participants know where to look to add ingredients. Hygeine with food preparations, planning, preparation and beautiful meals to take home to give family a night off. Awesome work!

This week we greeted familiar staff at Arnold’s (great specials so lots of stocking up). We plan for meals to be made over the next few weeks, extras for the chickens (to give the vegetable garden a rest with all the rain) and homemade snacks -saving money (budgeting). Following this routine allows consistency, whereby we can decide if a produce is of good value or no deal! This week we prepared roast chicken with an assortment of beautiful vegetables to take home-contributing to family (self worth). Extra special cuddles for Miss Tilly-she is very loved. Vacancies available for anyone wishing to find this life skill support. A special thankyou to the staff at Arnold’s who greet and ask what we are cooking-this always brings a smile to participants faces. To be recognised for who you are and your capabilities with support is truly a credit to all your staff.

We have revised marinating chicken and preparing our vegetables to cook. Miss Tilly and Master Russell were taken for a big walk at Noureil Park followed by fish and chips-yum! Some computer time before beginning to cook and revise mashing potatoe to agreed taste-skills developing with support. A beautiful meal to take home and contribute to family-well done! We have also learnt to dehydrate our foods to use in cooking - we tried the oven on low instead of the dehydrator (darker colour but same flavour. We have purchased a coffee grinder that allows for safer use for participants-home made chilli powder and paprika!

A little late posting. Over the past weeks we have continued learning new skills, mashed potatoe with vegetables and creamy chicken-a huge favourite. This week we revised home made lasanya - step by step with a choice of vegetables selected from our vegetable garden and Arnold’s. Planning, shopping, social skills (staff at Arnold’s), food preparation, costing, providing food for family-self worth. We also made homemade chips-awareness of cost verses eating out. Vacancy for more participants. Call Katrina on 0409274790 to discuss your goals.
