It’s often that I feel I don’t belong in business for many reasons, but when I share the space with others, talk to my customers, and collaborate with small businesses, I am always reminded why I am in this position.
Firstly, I am incredibly grateful to the women who I get to share our space with to facilitate workshops & intimate gatherings. Together, we create a potent change in each other’s lives.
This was one of my long term goals to facilitate workshops with other women however it has been an early fruit of labour of what seemed like an inconvenience at the beginning. To combat the downfall of retail sales and the growing expense to sustain our business, we opened our space to the public to rent after hours. This move flooded our inbox with a lot of interests from likeminded women and since then everything flows smoother.
Since birthing Tahanan, one major shift and intention has been to create more of our own products that we design and create in-house. If you didn’t know I use to own a plant store in Sunshine, Tahanan is a continuation of what we started there.
Last year, I created and released our first range, a 6-piece candle collection infused with a story of love, self-discovery and culture.
🕯️Tahanan’s Candle Story is a project born out of love and curiosity. I am no chandler, more of a candle connoisseur, a creative and a passionate storyteller.
Lately, I’ve had the opportunity to share Tahanan’s Candle Story to different audiences. A moment of gratitude to the women who have been moved by the Candle Story and have invited me to take others on a journey through their senses and imagination.
It’s a pleasure, an honour, a rewarding experience to see others enjoy the atmosphere at Tahanan, share stories, be open and vulnerable in a space filled with magic.
I have pivoted, tested, and trialed many things here at Tahanan. It’s nice to have finally found some solid foundation and direction. I look forward to seeing this beautiful community grow & flourish 🌱
