A Brand New Toy for the Green Team 💚

Every gardening team deserves a good piece of machinery. Preferably one that starts when you pull the cord!

Thanks to the wonderful Rotary Brisbane Water, our Green Team is now the proud owner of a brand-new STIHL whipper snipper, purchased from STIHL and generously donated to Lasercraft Australia

It is already looking like a very popular addition to the gardening arsenal, and we suspect a few overgrown edges around the place may soon be reconsidering their life choices.

A huge thumbs-up and thank you to Rotary Club Brisbane Waters for their generosity and continued support of Lasercraft.
Donations like this do more than provide equipment, they help our team build skills, take pride in their work and keep our grounds looking their best.

And if your garden is looking like it has entered into a disagreement with civilisation, why not let our Green Team help?

Get in touch with Dave, the man with the plan, at ✉️ [email protected] to organise a quote and get your garden ready for spring 🌳🌼

A special thank you to Jayne Mote from Rotary and Chris from STIHL for helping make it happen 👏

Employee of the Month for July

There's a moment before every award is announced when hope does its finest work. Heads bow ever so slightly, fingers cross instinctively, and somewhere deep inside comes the quiet prayer,

"Please let them say my name."

This month, it was Tim's turn.
If you've ever met Tim, you'll know he's usually the first to congratulate someone else. The first to offer a pat on the back, a handshake, or a heartfelt "Well done." He celebrates other people's successes as if they were his own.

So watching him hear his own name announced as Lasercraft's Employee of the Month for July was a joy. The surprise, the celebration, and the smile said everything.

Tim has worked incredibly hard packaging our Mini Me products, following instructions, taking pride in every task, and giving each day his best. It's an achievement he has genuinely earned.

At Lasercraft, we happen to be in the corporate awards business. Every day we create trophies and awards that recognise excellence. But moments like this remind us that the most meaningful recognition isn't made from acrylic or timber. It's seeing someone realise that their effort has been noticed, appreciated, and celebrated.

This one's for you, Tim.

Congratulations, mate. No one deserves their moment in the spotlight more.

Walking Tall 🚶‍♀️‍➡️

Hannah Bolton's Gold-Medal Discipline

Over the weekend, in the crisp winter air of Woy Woy, our very own Hannah Bolton walked her way to Gold in the 20km event at the NSW State Long Walk Championships, representing Mingara Regional Athletics! 👏

After a little online digging it suggests Hannah's trophy cabinet is already groaning under the weight of medals, and after this latest triumph, it may need reinforcing🏆🥇🏅

Race walking is one of those curious sports that looks deceptively simple until you realise it demands extraordinary discipline, mechanical precision, stamina, and a stubborn refusal to give in.

It rewards consistency above all else

That probably explains why Hannah is equally impressive here at Lasercraft Australia.
The same quiet determination that carries her across 20 gruelling kilometres is the quality she brings to work every day. Reliable, focused, and unfailingly committed. Hannah reminds us that excellence isn't something you switch on for competition, It's a habit that follows you wherever you go.

Please join us in congratulating Hannah, State Champion, our valued teammate, and living proof that the best victories are built one determined step at a time 💪🏆

Splendid work, Hannah Bolton

Neon Floor Pads and Ten-Pin Triumphs: A Weekend at Dullboy's Social Co.

Four and a half minutes of frantic stepping on glowing neon tiles sounds like an extreme sport, but for our weekend community access crew, it was just the beginning of a grand day out at Dullboy’s Social Co.

Anton, Shah, and Kye braved the Pixel grid with varying degrees of athletic grace, working up quite an appetite for the large lunches and cold sodas that followed. Glow sticks were secured via token diplomacy, and the afternoon culminated in a fiercely contested game of ten-pin bowls.

When the dust settled, Zali reigned supreme as queen of the lanes, taking home the bragging rights until further notice.

Thirty today!

Some people pass through a workplace. Stevie became part of its heartbeat.

As anyone who watches this video will quickly discover, Stevie has the rare gift of making an ordinary day feel just a little brighter. Whether it's his smile or simply the way he brings people together, Lasercraft is a better place because he's in it.

Thirty isn't just another birthday. It's one of life's great milestones, a chance to look back on wonderful memories and forward to many more adventures to come.

From all your friends at Lasercraft, thank you for being unapologetically you. You remind us that kindness, laughter are worth celebrating every single day.

Happy 30th Birthday, Stevie!

The Great Amazement Expedition.

Last weekend, our Community Access crew climbed aboard two Lasercraft buses and headed to Amazement Farm & Fun Park for a day that seemed determined to keep everyone smiling. The weather, showing an unusual degree of good manners, held off on the rain until we were safely on our way home.

Some Saturdays ask very little of you. Others offer bottle-feeding farm animals, a train ride past lions, alpacas that just want a cuddle, and a flock of entrepreneurial chickens convinced your lunch was a community resource.

Between keeper talks, friendly encounters in the petting zoo, and the chance to hand-feed some very enthusiastic young animals, there was no shortage of memorable moments. After lunch, the whole group hopped aboard the park train for a leisurely tour past lions, camels, emus and plenty of other curious residents, all of whom seemed just as interested in us as we were in them.

It was another wonderful day spent together, filled with laughter, new experiences and great company. Sometimes the best adventures aren't the biggest ones... they're simply the ones shared with good people.

Congratulations to Brody, our June Employee of the Month.

As a valued member of our PEGS team, Brody has embraced change with a quiet confidence that never goes unnoticed. Whether he's carefully painting pegs to our high standards or taking on new challenges, he does it with a positive attitude, no complaints, and a genuine willingness to give his best.

It's often said that character isn't revealed when things stay the same... it's revealed when they change. Brody has shown exactly that.

Well done, Brody. Thank you for your hard work, your positivity, and for being such a valued member of the Lasercraft team. We're proud of everything you've achieved.

There is a particular kind of madness that involves driving down the M1 to Sydney Olympic Park on a weekend. Fortunately, our Community Access crew arrived fully qualified.

Comic-Con 2026 delivered exactly what it promised... organised chaos, eye-watering merchandise prices, and enough costumes to make Halloween look underdressed.

Amanda stepped effortlessly into the role of Batgirl, while Anton spent most of the day reminding everyone, "It's-a-me, Mario!"

We were also delighted to catch up with Connor, a great friend of Lasercraft, whose costume looked as though a Stormtrooper and the Joker had combined forces to create the ultimate crowd-pleaser. With a smile as impressive as the costume itself, he spent the day spreading laughs, posing for photos, and proving that creativity has no limits.

Inside, Warhammer painters worked with surgeon-like precision, trading card collectors negotiated deals worthy of Wall Street, and Larry and Tracy were completely captivated by the K-pop performances.

We returned to the Central Coast slightly poorer, considerably more tired, but with plenty of stories to tell.

Comic-Con, as always, did not disappoint.

A Poncho-Powered Comeback!

The Lasercraft Community Access crew headed to Leichhardt Oval on Sunday for a farewell visit to one of rugby league's great old grounds.

Things looked bleak when the Tigers trailed 28-12, but Andrew Young stepped into the role of Head Coach from the grandstand, looking every bit the football mastermind in a weather poncho.

Max took charge of attacking duties, and moments later the Tigers produced a remarkable comeback, piling on three late tries to win 36-28.

Coincidence?

The official statisticians are still investigating.

A fantastic day of community access filled with plenty of laughs, great company and a memorable finish.

Thanks to Matt and Lachy for looking after the crew on the day, and Amy for booking the tickets and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

🏷️ What do you think of our new badges?

These fabulous badges were made by the team at Lasercraft Australia Ltd, a National Disability Enterprise based in West Gosford that provides long-term supported employment to people living with disability. It's a wonderful local business doing great work, and a fitting choice for a Rotary club.

You'll also notice something different: gone are the days of listing professions on our badges. Rotary is now open to everyone who wants to make a difference, whatever their occupation, and our new badges reflect that.

📸 Pictured is Mitchell Gordon's badge. A Charter Member of our club, Mitch currently serves as our Membership Director and Homelessness Program Chair.
