✨ Specimen Spotlight: Trilobite ✨
You’re not just looking at a fossil.

🕵🏻♂️ Trilobite — one of the most recognisable fossil groups from the ancient seas.
✨Trilobites were marine arthropods that first appeared more than 500 million years ago, long before dinosaurs ever walked the Earth. 🌍
For nearly 270 million years, different species lived across the world’s oceans before disappearing during the mass extinction at the end of the Permian Period. ⏳
And today?
Their fossilised remains give us an extraordinary window into a world almost impossible to imagine.
🧐 Look closely and you can still make out the distinctive segmented body that gives trilobites their name — along with details preserved across an almost incomprehensible stretch of geological time.
That’s what makes fossils like this so fascinating. 🤨
