A message from our founder
The boat was rocked by a man who has no concept or understanding of how it would feel to have a partner go through hair loss.
A “G.I Jane joke” that has provoked, caused damage and just about broke the internet causing a sh** storm evoking the empowered Alopecia community to take a stand and spread awareness on the disease.
To those who felt emotionally triggered by this, I hope you heal from this soon and don’t take this to heart as a personal attack on us as a minority. Although it can feel like we’re being made fun of as someone who has dealt with the struggles of Alopecia. I’ve been bullied for not having hair growing up, receiving these sorts of comments to this day which in the passed contributed to a downward spiral of depression prior to accepting what is and coming out publicly about my condition. I have come to understand the ongoing distasteful jokes that people have unwittingly said is mostly due to the lack of knowledge they have about the mental affects of Alopecia and the ongoing battle, us as women go through losing our hair.
If a comedian thinks that pulling this “bald” card is going to get him liked, he may as well end his career now or provide a formal apology to Jada and to the Alopecia community because we won’t remain quiet over this.
It takes an enormous amount of courage to face reality and be bald in public. Seeing Jada standing at the Oscar’s in her true form as the sexy, fierce and inspiring woman she is without her hair, makes me so proud to be the bald bad bitch that I am too.
“I apologise, I guess love makes you do crazy things” I don’t condone violence but If a bitch slap is in the heat of the moment of rage to protect the person you love and make someone realise the consequences of their stupid actions, I’m team 👋🏼
Yet, the grown man Chris Rock gets off scot- free affecting millions of people while will is being investigated and could potentially have his award revoked that he rightfully deserves..
