Hi everyone! 👋🏼 Long time with no posting! Apologies for my tardiness, I’ve been enjoying other endeavours including travelling (locally and internationally), gardening, decluttering (cathartic!), binging The Pitt (when you know you know!) and murder mysteries, enjoying the company of wonderful friends and most recently, raising a rescue puppy called River! 🐶

I confess, after 10 years of refinishing furniture and decor and close to 4 years of teaching how to, I have enjoyed taking a break from the work. I was however grateful to still see my regular paint clients for a catch up and chat. Seeing their projects has been an absolute joy. 😍

THE WORKSHOPS:

17 May &/or 24 May from 1.30pm to 4.30pm (rain or shine, undercover). 

I will be running two 3 hour workshops which you can book individually at $65 each (+ paints and materials) or combine the two workshops (total six hours over two Sundays) $110 (+ paints and materials).

One 3 hour workshop is ideal to work on a simple, small piece of furniture or get creative with a decor piece.
Booking both 3 hour workshops (one week apart) is ideal for working on a more complicated project that may include sanding, stencilling &/or transfers.

All paints and materials used during my workshops need to be purchased from my studio shop as I only train in products that I know and trust.

Places are limited to ensure everyone gets the help and attention they need, so book quickly if you know you’re available for those dates!

Cancellations: regardless of the circumstances because the place has been booked stopping another person from attending, refunds are not offered. However you can utilise those funds paid for credit towards products and how-to-use tutorials when purchasing.

As a bonus, you get to meet River (optional) who is a very sweet, happy puppy who loves everybody. She will be sleeping in her crate during the workshops after the initial meet and greet.

At the end of last year I received a piece of furniture from a lovely client to refinish and add some floral texture to compliment her newly renovated home. A lovely chiffonier passed down to her that she loved, but it simply did not work in its ‘well lived’ state. Here are some before, during and after (in situ) photos.

If you have any projects that you want to do yourself or have custom finished for you, please reach out. For those clients purchasing their refinishing products from me I provide the ‘how to’ in each step.

If you’re keen to do a workshop, I am waiting for a weekend when it gets a little cooler and I will advertise the dates here on my social media.

These very well made drawers needed a fresh facelift for one of my regular clients. Now that they have been refinished they work beautifully in their coastal styled home and can be loved for many years to come.

The top and top drawer have been stripped sanded, lime washed & sealed.
The body and other drawers have been cleaned, lightly scuff sanded and painted in Black Pearl (Artisan Mineral Paint). The pulls have been cleaned to compliment the wood tones.

All consumables and paint are from our Artisan Paint and accessories ranges. Message me if you need something for your furniture painting supplies.

CUSTOM WORK:
If you have a high quality piece that you love because it suits a purpose, is a great shape and / or size, but it’s outdated in a dark stained wood, or just doesn’t suit your current decor, please reach out to discuss custom finishing availability and pricing.

The wet weather has inspired me to continue with the transformation of these old English drawers… But there was a glitch! This old man is Bailey (Tonkinese), for those that have not met him at a workshop. He is over 16 years old (80+ cat years) and still going strong! But he’s very nosy!

LOVELY PETITE ENGLISH OAK ‘LIBRAIRIE’ CABINET / EXTRA LARGE BEDSIDE

This was the piece that I asked for feedback on how I should refinish it. I received some great feedback and after mulling it over for a few months (because I couldn’t decide… A rare state for me!), I thought this finished piece was a very cute idea. I hope you approve. ☺️

For those book lovers who have a favourite 📚 collection, this little “Librairie” cabinet may be just perfect! “Librairie” is French for “Bookshop”.

The complimentary warm oak wood tones, French Green mineral paint and gold decal, look gorgeous with the floral ‘window’ transfers. However, there is also the option to turn the panels around if you would rather have the floral on the inside and French Green raised paneling on the outside. Isn’t that clever!

The inside is painted throughout in Moleskin mineral paint for a clean fresh finish.

The size of this piece is of a very large bedside. It’s larger than it appears, so please check the measurements before purchasing.

SERVING TRAY IN OUR BEAUTIFUL FRENCH GREEN MINERAL PAINT + FRENCH FLORAL TRANSFER

This tray has transformed from bland brown to French Green and Fabulous!

I’ve painted it in one of our new colours French Green from our Artisan Paints range. I’ve then applied a gorgeous Hokus Pokus Transfer to create a rich yet romantic design, and sealed it in Matte Poly Varnish to finish.

Such a beautiful way to serve your loved ones breakfast in bed, or perhaps use it for display as a centrepiece on your dining or coffee table. A wonderful gift idea!
