I got 2 new Silkies the other day....well one is a Silku, and the other is definitely a cross, I think she is crossed with a pekin....She was sold to be as a pure Silky, but I can see from her feathers she is a cross..but talk about PERSONALITY!, she is absolutely Adorable....wish I could get a better pic of her 😊

It rained and rained here today in Toodyay WA, and my poor little Silkies all looked like Wet Shags!!!
💖 there is a group of 8, which I call my "Supermodels" because they are my best looking group.....anyway, I couldn,t bear seeing them muddy and wet any more...so I moved them to a coral on the front porch....by morning they should look all lovely and dry and plush again! Yay!
Below is a picture of "Tiffany", she isn,t in the "Supermodel" group, but she is a bearded Silky, which is Georgeous anyway 😊💖💖💖

Oh! I was Sooo excited about new baby Silkies....but a few things must of gone wrong....

I think a few of the eggs got Soiled when sum other Chooks roosted witg her at nite....If an egg goes bad it can make the others infertile.....

And thats what Happened I think....because no babies, and now she has moved position as if to start again....

Oh Well...lets Start again...DOH!!!

If yr Chicken ever becomes lame...Check out their feet...they may have crusty coverings...but even if they don,t showna full encrustation of the feet...it could still be SCALY MITE!

You can get a Simple treatment that you put on their skin (part the feathers) like spot on for cats and dogs, only this is for Scaly Mite, and you can find it at any good bird store.
