Big feelings can be hard to put into words... but through hands on play, kids can learn how to process their emotions.
Our Emotions Sensory Dough Kit invites children to explore feelings through play, shaping colourful faces, silly hairstyles, and stories with beautifully scented dough and reusable play mats. As they create, they're also building emotional literacy such as learning to recognise emotions, name them, and express them in a safe, playful way.
Emotional literacy is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. When little ones can identify what they're feeling, they're better able to communicate their needs, navigate big emotions, build empathy for others, and develop healthy ways to cope with life's challenges.
Through open-ended sensory play, conversations about feelings happen naturally, giving children the confidence to say, "I feel sad," "I'm frustrated," or "I'm really excited," instead of becoming overwhelmed by emotions they don't yet understand.
