Are you looking for a simple activity to keep little ones off screens?

Try this simple idea. Simply cut out flower shapes from paper and cover the back with sticky book contact. Peel off the backing, and pop them to a table with the sticky side facing up. Then use the different pieces from your Collage Box to decorate the flowers.

This is a wonderful way to get them to strengthen their fine motor skills while also expressing their creativity. The best part is that there is no right or wrong way to decorate the flowers.

Save this idea for your next slow afternoon or rainy day

Craft doesn't stop being important once your child starts school. In fact, as children get older, creative experiences become even more valuable. 🎨

Our Famous Artists Craft Activity Box is designed to challenge curious minds while introducing children to some of history's most influential artists, including Frida Kahlo, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh and Andy Warhol. Each activity explores a different artistic style and technique, encouraging children to experiment rather than simply copy.

For older kids, these projects go far beyond sticking and colouring. They encourage:
🎨 Creative thinking and self-expression
🖌️ Experimenting with different art techniques
🧠 Critical thinking through observation and interpretation
🌈 Building patience, focus and perseverance
📚 Learning about famous artists and art history in a hands-on way
💡 Developing confidence by creating something uniquely their own
Its the perfect gift for those kids older than 6 years of age.

Activity Idea - Tracing shadows.

This is a simple art activity to try at home. Grab some paper, a pencil, and some watercolour paints. Trace the shadows in the garden and then paint them with watercolours

If tracing the shadows outside in the garden is too difficult for little hands, just pick a steam of leaves or some interesting shaped sticks and bring them in to sit in a vase in the sun.

Big feelings can be hard to put into words... but through hands on play, kids can learn how to process their emotions.

Our Emotions Sensory Dough Kit invites children to explore feelings through play, shaping colourful faces, silly hairstyles, and stories with beautifully scented dough and reusable play mats. As they create, they're also building emotional literacy such as learning to recognise emotions, name them, and express them in a safe, playful way.

Emotional literacy is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. When little ones can identify what they're feeling, they're better able to communicate their needs, navigate big emotions, build empathy for others, and develop healthy ways to cope with life's challenges.

Through open-ended sensory play, conversations about feelings happen naturally, giving children the confidence to say, "I feel sad," "I'm frustrated," or "I'm really excited," instead of becoming overwhelmed by emotions they don't yet understand.

Children can't be good or bad at art and craft. We need to change our thinking surrounding this.

Art and craft is a way to explore, express emotions, build confidence, strengthen little hands, develop creative thinking, and discover that there are endless ways to see the world.

When we focus only on the finished product, we risk sending the message that the outcome matters more than the experience.

But when we celebrate the process, we tell our children that their ideas, effort, curiosity, and creativity are more important.

So next time your little one proudly hands you a painting that looks nothing like the dog they promised it would be, ask them about their colours, their ideas, what they enjoyed, what surprised them, or how they felt while creating.

It's about creating confident, curious humans who aren't afraid to make a mess, try something new, and express who they are.
